| Spam Infiltrates

A staggering one in seven of e-mails
received by businesses can now be classed as spam according
to a new investigation by Message Labs. Workers are spending
up to 10% of their working day dealing with irrelevant e-mails,
with one of the key problems being people's inability to define
what is spam and also what isn't.
Message Labs questioned 160 IT
directors and managers across the UK, with spam not only raising
productivity issues but also data storage.
Whist at first glance comparisons to a similar survey carried
out in the States show the UK to have a lesser problem, it becomes
more of a concern when considering how much more mature the
US online market is.
Currently 3 in every 10 mails received by Stateside businesses
constitutes spam, and in the UK we're very firmly heading in
that direction at the moment.
Meridion can advise on the most appropriate method, given the
volume of email received, to protect and ensure a productive
employee environment. contact
